This is the Face of Global Warming

Its been a long week here in my old home/new home state of Oklahoma when Tropical Storm Erin and several other intense "extreme weather" situations passed through the state. This is definitely not the August I remember growing up with 100+ degrees and with it the withered grass that relieved me of my mowing responsibilities.

When folks like Al Gore started talking seriously about global warming in the early 90's - they conjured up all sorts of dire weather images. It was eerie to see those images come to life last weekend with the unseasonably severe weather systems that put us back on the map for a day. Not to mention that all my possessions were sitting in a U-Haul truck in the driveway waiting for the rain to stop long enough to be unloaded. Follow that up with the extreme weather in the Midwest this past week and its amazing that some people can still question the impact our carbon emissions and our unnecessary dependency on petroleum have on the weather and the very fabric of people's lives. To most its simple science - cause and effect.
